Description
Established in memory of Columbus East High School sophomore Abbott Forrester Garn.
Criteria
Graduating senior from Columbus East High School planning to attend a college/university in the United States. Applicant should have a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and be a multi-sport athlete (minimum of 2). Applicant should be civic-minded and mission-oriented, putting others above self. Additional letter of recommendation from a coach or teacher required.
Analytical Engineering, Inc. (AEI) Scholarship

Description
Established by Analytical Engineering, Inc. (AEI) owners David and Angie May to assist and encourage students with financial need and are diligent in their studies to pursue careers in technical fields such as engineering, computer science, or the physical sciences.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from a Bartholomew County public, private or home school; or Trinity Lutheran High School. Applicant must plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as engineering, computer science, or the physical sciences at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicant must have at least a 2.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Preference given to students with financial need.
Andrew Parker Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established by family and friends in memory of Andrew Parker, who died in an automobile accident in May 2004. Andrew was a wrestler for Columbus East High School and manager at Texas Roadhouse Restaurant.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from a Bartholomew County public high school who plan to attend an accredited vocational/technical school, junior college, college, or university. Applicant must display a passion for hard work and teamwork. Financial need will be considered.
Andy Critzer Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established in memory of Andy Critzer, a member of the Columbus North High School Golf Team, who died in an automobile accident in 1985.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from a Bartholomew County high school who participated in their high school golf program. Criteria to be used in evaluating applicant shall include, but not be limited to, academic performance, extracurricular activities, financial need, character, and sportsmanship.
Ann Ward Fine Arts Scholarship

Description
Established in 2018 to honor the memory and celebrate the life of Ann Ward. Ann was a natural leader with a passion for giving back and helping others. Through this scholarship, Ann’s family preserve her memory by recognizing students who exhibit her values and her love for the arts.
Criteria
Graduating Bartholomew County high school senior who plans to pursue postsecondary studies at an accredited college or university with a major in the fine arts (i.e. painting, drawing, etc.). Minimum 2.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant must demonstrate talent, passion for fine arts and strong work ethic. Academic performance and financial need will be considered. Letter of recommendation from art teacher/member of art faculty and sample of artistic work required.
Anna Newell Brown Awards for Vocal Excellence

Description
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Brown in memory of Mr. Brown’s mother, Anna Newell Brown, a distinguished vocalist who contributed greatly to the cultural life of Bartholomew County. Both Mr. and Mrs. Brown served on the Heritage Fund’s Board of Directors.
Criteria
Any Bartholomew County resident who is a high school sophomore, junior, or senior vocalist. The scholarships are determined by a vocal competition conducted in February each year. Seniors compete for college scholarships and an invitation to audition with the Columbus Indiana Philharmonic. Sophomores and juniors compete for scholarships for private lessons or music camps.
Annette Siler Hungerford Memorial Scholarship

Graduating senior from Columbus North High School pursuing postsecondary education with a major in a math- or science-related field. Preference to students who demonstrate an interest in music.

Criteria

Established in 2013 by the Kim Family in honor of their daughters Betsy, Maggie and Emily all of whom attended Columbus North High School.
Criteria
A female graduating senior from Columbus North High School active in publications or athletics planning to attend any 4-year accredited college or university. Applicants must have a recommendation from a coach or a sponsor. Financial need will be considered.
Barbara W. Stewart Scholarship

Established by Robert N. and Barbara Westermeier Stewart in 1981 to give support to the people who are the backbone of our day to day lives in the community. Barbara Stewart served on the Heritage Fund Board of Directors and passed away in 2003.
Criteria
Residents of Bartholomew or Decatur counties who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Previous recipients are encouraged to re-apply.
Bartholomew County REMC Scholarship

Dependent of current members of Bartholomew County REMC from Bartholomew, Decatur, Jackson or Jennings counties, and/or dependents of current REMC employees and/or board members who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Applicant must have a high school or college GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Bartholomew County REMC — Alex Barkes Memorial Scholarship

Established by Bartholomew County REMC in memory of Alex Barkes. Alex was an employee of Bartholomew County REMC as a Network Administrator and exhibited outstanding qualities of a strong work ethic and positive attitude. Those who knew him will not forget his contagious enthusiasm for life.

Residents of Bartholomew County, or members of any Bartholomew County REMC household from Decatur, Jackson, or Jennings counties, who plan to attend an accredited post-secondary institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Bartholomew/Brown County Medical Society Medical Education Scholarship

Established by the Bartholomew/Brown County Medical Society to support medical education.
Criteria
Residents of Bartholomew or Brown counties who are entering medical school as freshmen or who are in medical school as upperclassmen at an American Medical Association-approved medical school located in the United States. Academic performance and financial need will be considered.
Becky S. Green Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Becky S. Green by her husband, Monty Green. Mrs. Green taught business classes at Columbus East and Columbus North high schools and was a faculty sponsor of the Business Professionals of America Chapter at both schools.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. who are current members of their high school chapter of the Business Professionals of America. Must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Applicant will pursue a post-secondary degree at an accredited college or university. Financial need will be considered.
Behrman “Big Dog” Award

Description
Established by Linda, Jim and Jamie Behrman to annually honor a senior from the Columbus North High School men’s basketball team.
Criteria
Graduating senior men’s basketball players or managers on the Columbus North High School team who plan to pursue post-secondary education at an accredited vocational/technical school, junior college, college, or university. Recipient must exhibit an attitude of hard work and teamwork. No application required. Recipient chosen by committee.
Betty F. Brown Awards for Instrumental Excellence

Description
Established by Robert N. Brown in memory of his wife, Betty, who passed away in 1991. Mrs. Brown played an active part in the arts community in Bartholomew County and the state of Indiana.
Criteria
Any Bartholomew County resident who is a high school sophomore, junior, or senior instrumentalist. The scholarships are determined by an instrumental competition conducted in February each year. Bill and Jody Harter Scholarship

Description
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Harter, longtime Columbus residents, to encourage higher education for residents of Bartholomew County. Bill served as an instructor at both IUPUC and Ivy Tech State College for nine years.
Criteria
Residents of Bartholomew County who are graduating seniors or graduates of a Bartholomew County high school currently attending or planning to attend IUPUC, Ivy Tech Community College Columbus, or Purdue Polytechnic Institute at Columbus as full-time students pursuing an associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Recipients may re-apply annually as long as they remain in good standing with their college or university.

Blake Hanger Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established by his parents, Brent Hanger and Barb and Andy Carman, in memory of Blake. Blake was a 2007 graduate of Columbus North High School. He was a member of the Columbus North boy’s basketball and football teams. He was a 2011 graduate of Butler University with a degree in education. Blake was attending Logan College in St. Louis, achieving his master’s and doctorate in chiropractic medicine. Blake loved the city of Columbus and all the attributes the community had to offer. Blake would be extremely proud to know that Columbus students will be pursuing post-secondary education in his honor.

Graduating high school senior with official enrollment at Columbus North or Columbus East from Bartholomew County who plans to pursue a full-time bachelor’s degree at a post-secondary school in Indiana. Preference will be given to students applying to Butler University.
Bob Marshall ’ Bob Gordon Memorial Scholarship for Journalism

Established in memory of two former editors of the Columbus Evening Republican (now The Republic) and dedicated to encouraging local students to pursue careers in journalism.

Graduating high school seniors and college students who reside in the multi-county area served by The Republic newspaper and who plan to pursue a career in journalism. Financial need, academic performance, and extracurricular activities (in school and the community) will be considered.
Bob and Marcy Oswald Engineering Scholarship

Established by Bob and Marcy Oswald, former residents of Columbus, to promote engineering education. Mr. Oswald is the retired chairman of the Robert Bosch Corporation in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

Casey Fishe Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established by Chris and Shannon Clulow in honor of Chris’ grandfather Casey Fishe, who was very influential in Chris’ life and continues to serve as his biggest role model. Casey grew up in a very challenging environment as an orphan in foster care and later battling, like many, through the Great Depression. The challenges in his life did not diminish his spirit of determination, kindness and caring. Casey was a true giver, always putting the needs of others before himself and the Clulows are pleased to create this scholarship to honor his memory.

Columbus Business and Professional Women’s Scholarship

Description
Established by the Columbus Business and Professional Women’s organization (BPW) in memory of Mabel Suverkrup, a charter member of the Columbus BPW (1923); and Conni Richards, a member active on both the local and state levels of BPW.
Criteria
A woman at least 25 years of age who has been a resident of Bartholomew County at least one year prior to the date of application. Must have applied to or be attending an accredited post-secondary institution, carrying at least a part-time class schedule. Financial need and special circumstances will be considered.
Columbus Crush Scholarship

Established by a group of Bartholomew County parents whose children wanted to play competitive travel baseball in 2000 and supported by the Bartholomew County Parks and Recreation Board of Directors.
Criteria
Male resident of Bartholomew County who is a graduating high school senior athlete in good standing at a public or private high school or home school who plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Applicant must have played a sport during his senior year of high school. Preference will be given to applicants with financial need.
Columbus Rotary Scholarship in Honor of Judson S. Erne

Description
Established by the Columbus Rotary Club to honor club member Judson S. Erne, former principal of Columbus High School, for his many years of devotion to Bartholomew County – within the educational community as well as the social services community.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from any Bartholomew County high school pursuing a post-secondary education and attending a college, university, or technical school with the desire to pursue a degree in education, divinity, nursing, or social work. Applicant must have a GPA of at least 2.0 on a 4.0 scale, have been a member of a school-sponsored service organization, and participated in community service (school- or nonschool-sponsored) throughout high school. Award payments will be renewable for three years, provided recipients maintain a 2.5 GPA at their college or university and continue in the outlined course of study.
Columbus Youth Hockey/Bryan Ritz Memorial Hockey Fund

Established by the Columbus Youth Hockey Organization and later designated in memory of Bryan Ritz, who died in an automobile accident in 1994 at the age of 17. Bryan loved hockey and participated in the Columbus Youth Hockey program from the time he was 5 years old.

Established by Bill and Jeanne Altmiller to honor the memory of their son, Danny, who passed away in December 2009, and their daughter, Elizabeth, who passed away in July 2015 and to recognize individuals who give their time and talents to help children with special needs.
Criteria
Graduating high school senior from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree at an accredited post-secondary educational institution and major in education, occupational therapy, or physical therapy. Preference will be given to students who specialize in special education, pediatric occupational or pediatric physical therapy and to students who participate in their high school’s Best Buddies program.
Dave Galle Memorial Scholarship

Established by friends, colleagues and family to honor the memory of Dave Galle and his work in our community. Dave was a man of quiet strength and integrity, who treated others with respect and compassion. He also understood the value of education and its ability to improve quality of life. As executive director of the Community Education Coalition, Dave championed efforts to increase availability of quality education in our region, from pre-K through the postsecondary level. His greatest wish was to ensure that students in our region would have the opportunity to pursue education that could lead to well-paying employment, regardless of income, race or background.

Developmental Services, Inc. (DSI) William K. Hadar Scholarship

Description
Established in 2016 by DSI to perpetuate the achievements and dreams of future professionals dedicated to making a difference in the lives of others and to honor DSI’s longest serving Chief Executive Officer, Bill Hadar. Bill served 28 years with DSI and an additional 12 in leadership roles with other organizations that serve individuals with disabilities. Bill guided DSI through some of its greatest challenges and helped it grow from a seven-county service area in Indiana to 44.

Graduating high school senior with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Applicant must be able to demonstrate volunteerism with a preference for serving individuals (or organizations that serve individuals) with intellectual disabilities.
Doug Leonard Healthcare Occupations Scholarship

Established in recognition of Mr. Leonard’s service to the Columbus Regional Hospital and to the area’s healthcare system.
Criteria
Bartholomew County resident planning to attend or currently attending IUPUC or Ivy Tech Community College Columbus in a health care-related course of study leading to an associate’s degree or a bachelor’s degree.
Dr. & Mrs. Edward L. Probst Medical School Scholarship

Description
Established by Dr. and Mrs. Probst to assist students attending medical school. Dr. Probst, M.D., grew up in Dearborn County and practiced dermatology for more than 30 years in Columbus. The Probsts are lifelong members of the Lutheran Church, Missouri Synod.
Criteria
Residents of Bartholomew, Dearborn, Jackson, or Jennings counties attending an American Medical Association-approved medical school. Applicant must be a member of a Christian church, with preference given to Lutherans.
Dr. Cleve James Francoeur, Jr. Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Cleve J. Francoeur, Sr. in memory of their son. A graduate of Wabash College and Indiana University Medical School, Dr. Francoeur practiced dermatology in Bartholomew and Jackson counties. He passed away in an automobile accident in February 2007.
Criteria
Students who graduated from a Bartholomew or Jackson county high school and are entering the Indiana University School of Medicine as freshmen or who are upperclassmen at the Indiana University School of Medicine. Applicants must have at least a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Recipients may reapply annually.
Dr. Glenn E. Callaway Dental Scholarship

Description
Established by friends and members of the dental community to honor the memory of Dr. Glenn Callaway, who practiced dentistry in Columbus for more than 39 years.
Criteria
Any past or current resident of Bartholomew County who is currently accepted by or attending the Indiana University School of Dentistry within the Dentistry Program. Applicant must have resided in Bartholomew County for at least four years during the time he/she attended Grades 6 to 12. Applicant must have at least 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. A recipient may re-apply to receive this scholarship during each of the four years of dental school as long as he/she maintains a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Duane Barrows Scholarship

Description
Established in memory of Duane Barrows, a coach at Columbus High School, who died in an auto accident in 1979. Coach Barrows led the Columbus High School swimming team to six state swimming championships.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. who have participated in interscholastic sports. Academic performance, financial need and character will be considered. This four-year scholarship will be awarded next in 2027.
Earl E. & Mildred L. Bless Hudson Scholarship for Education

Edward Jones Investments Scholarship

Established in 2007 by the Bartholomew County Edward Jones financial advisors to provide scholarships to help students pursuing a career in financial services.
Criteria
Current Bartholomew County resident who is a graduating senior from any public, private, or home school who plans to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business as a full-time student. Preference will be given to finance majors. This is a merit-based scholarship that requires a minimum of a 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
Empowering Success Scholarship

Description
Established in 2022 by Floyd & Cindy Rutan to provide educational assistance to students living in the Flat Rock-Hawcreek community.
Criteria
Graduating Hauser senior and/or Bartholomew County resident of Flat Rock or Hawcreek townships pursuing postsecondary education at an accredited university on a full-time basis. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale. Financial need will be considered. Applicant must demonstrate high academic achievement and school involvement. Recipients may reapply in subsequent years as long as they maintain a 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale and continue to attend school on a full-time basis.
Foods and/or Nutrition-Related Careers Scholarship

Description
Established to assist students who are studying nutrition science, food science, consumer or extension education or hospitality management.
Criteria
Bartholomew County graduating high school senior pursuing postsecondary education on a full-time basis in a food/nutrition-related major (i.e. nutrition science, food science, family and consumer sciences education, culinary arts, hospitality, cooperative extension education). Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale. Academic performance will be considered. Preference will be given to students active in Family Career and Community Leadership of America (FCCLA), 4-H or C4 and/or who demonstrate work experience or volunteer activity in their chosen field of study. Recipients may reapply annually provided they have a minimum 2.5 GPA at their college/university.
Frank Burbrink Memorial 4-H Scholarship

Description
Established in 2008 in memory of Frank Burbrink by his parents, Greg and Bonnie Burbrink, and family and friends to celebrate and honor Frank’s love of 4-H and the Bartholomew County 4-H Fair. Frank was a nine-year member of the Bartholomew County 4-H program and held various leadership positions on 4-H and the Fair Board until his death from a car accident in 2007.
Criteria
A Bartholomew County graduating senior who has participated in 4-H for five or more years, including the current year. Applicant must plan to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a trade/technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree, studying full- or part-time. Applicant must demonstrate citizenship, leadership, and a positive attitude.
Fred L. Armstrong Future Leaders Scholarship

Description
Established in 2011 by the many friends and colleagues of former Mayor Fred L. Armstrong, to honor his many years of dedication and service to the city of Columbus. Mayor Armstrong started on the Columbus Police Department and then served as Mayor of Columbus from 1996 to 2011.
Criteria
City of Columbus resident and U.S. citizen who attends or plans to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution, full- or part-time. Preference will be given to active duty or reserve/guard military personnel, Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students, and retired military veterans. Applicants may re-apply annually.
Goldie Gibson Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established in memory of Goldie Gibson. Ms. Gibson worked on behalf of the poor in Bartholomew, Brown, Jackson, and adjacent counties.
Criteria
High school graduates or graduating seniors from Bartholomew, Brown, Decatur, Jackson, Johnson, or Shelby counties. Applicants must have been accepted to or be attending an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Preference will be given to applicants who have participated in Head Start. Past recipients may re-apply.
Greg Craft “Workhorse” Memorial Scholarship

Description
Established in memory of Greg Craft who lost his life in a tragic accident in 2021. Greg was a 1995 graduate of Columbus East High School and a member of the football team.
Criteria
Graduating senior from Columbus East High School who is a member of the Columbus East Football Team and plans to attend a postsecondary institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree or bachelor’s degree. Sherry Stark, a former President and CEO of Heritage Fund, created this scholarship in memory of her parents, who both attended Purdue University. Kirby Risk founded Kirby Risk Corporation in Lafayette, Indiana. He was active in civic activities, including bringing Junior Achievement to Lafayette. Caroline Risk, a singer, was a member of the Queen’s Court at the 1933 Chicago World’s Fair. Both were deeply involved in helping young people. Established by Lilly Endowment, Inc. to help raise the level of educational attainment in Indiana, increase the ability of Indiana community foundations to enhance the quality of life for the state’s residents, and encourage and support the efforts of current and past Lilly Endowment Community Scholars to engage with each other and with Indiana business, governmental, educational, nonprofit and civic leaders to improve the quality of life in Indiana generally and in local communities throughout the state. The Lilly Scholarship provides full tuition, required fees and a special allocation of up to $900 per year for required books and required equipment for four years of undergraduate study on a full-time basis that lead to a baccalaureate degree at any accredited Indiana public or private college or university. Criteria
Graduating high school senior from BCSC who plans to pursue a 2- or 4- year degree at an accredited post-secondary institution. Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, be active in athletics and/or music, be able to demonstrate academic excellence, leadership skills, and service to the community. Financial need will be considered. Preference will be given to Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) students. Financial need will be considered.
Steve Antcliff Memorial Scholarship

Graduating senior enrolled in a Bartholomew County public high school, who will attend a college, university, or technical school. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and have participated in an extracurricular activity. Financial need will be considered.
Susan Solomon Scholarship

Established to provide a single mother an opportunity to further her education toward a specific career or trade. In doing so it will enable not only the mother but also her children to have opportunities they might never have had.
Criteria
Bartholomew County single mother of at least 20 years of age pursuing postsecondary education at a college, trade/vocational school or other educational or training institution on a full- or part-time basis. Financial need with be considered. Previous applicants may reapply provided they have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale.
The Barker Family Scholarship

Criteria
Graduating high school senior from Columbus East High School, including CSA New Tech students whose official enrollment is at East, who is planning to attend Ivy Tech (Columbus) or IUPUC on a full-time basis in pursuit of an associate’s or bachelor’s degree. Applicant must have a minimum 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale and be involved in at least one extracurricular activity. Financial need will be considered.
The Martha Kalb “You GO Girl” Scholarship

Established by friends and family to celebrate the life of Martha Kalb, a dedicated Northside Middle School teacher, Columbus North High School girl’s basketball coach, and avid sports fan.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from the Bartholomew Consolidated School Corp. who play varsity girl’s basketball and plan to pursue post-secondary education at a vocational/technical school, junior college, college, or university. Applicant must be in good standing academically. Criteria to be used in evaluating applicant shall include, but not be limited to: academic performance, extracurricular activities, financial need, and sportsmanship. Recipients may re-apply annually as long as they remain in good standing at their school.
The Reverend Dr. William R. Laws Memorial Scholarship

Description
In 1962, Dr. Benjamin King, a microbiologist at Bartholomew County Hospital, raised the issue of the numerous barriers faced by African Americans in the community with Dr. William R. Laws, Jr., then pastor of First Presbyterian Church. Dr. Laws brought together a group of concerned citizens to address funding a foundation to provide scholarships for minorities to be used for post-secondary education. In 1976, the criteria broadened to include all Bartholomew County financially disadvantaged residents. In 2008, the William R. Laws Foundation Board asked Heritage Fund to take over management and administration of the fund. The Heritage Fund Board agreed to the request and, effective August 2008, the community foundation assumed responsibility for the scholarship program.

A graduating senior from a Bartholomew County public high school who plans to attend an accredited post-secondary institution full-time in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate’s degree, or bachelor’s degree. Financial need, community volunteerism, student employment, and first generation college applicant considered. Minorities, disadvantaged, and at-risk students are encouraged to apply.
Thomas H. Sayrs Memorial Scholarship

Established in memory of Tom Sayrs, who was passionate about all things engineering, and was a longtime volunteer with Science Olympiad.
Criteria
Graduating high school seniors who are residents of Bartholomew County (including students who attend schools outside of Bartholomew County) who are planning to pursue postsecondary education at an accredited vocational/technical school, junior college, college, or university on a full-time basis. Applicant must be a current participant in high school’s Science Olympiad team with a minimum 3.0 GPA and pursuing a degree/certification in any science-based field of study, including engineering, architecture, landscape architecture or computer science. Additional letter of recommendation required from Science Olympiad team coach/advisor required.
Todd & Julie Bergman Scholarship

Graduating seniors from any Bartholomew County high school who plan to further their education at an accredited post-secondary institution. Financial requirements to be considered for this scholarship are $80,000 adjusted gross income with one college student in family or $115,000 adjusted gross income with two college students in family.

Graduating seniors from a Bartholomew County public high school who plan to pursue two-year or four-year degrees at accredited colleges or universities as full-time students. Community service, academic performance, and financial need will be considered.
Waldo M. and Madge C. Harrison Scholarship

Established by Mrs. Harrison to express her appreciation to the employees of Four Seasons Retirement Center for care given to her and to her husband.
Criteria
Student pursuing post-secondary education in a health care-related course of study. Financial need will be considered. Preference will be given to Bartholomew County students pursuing their education through a Bartholomew County Institution and/or employees of Four Seasons Retirement Center.
Zach Deak Golden Boot Scholarship

Established by family and friends in 2023 to celebrate the life of Zach Deak. Zach played soccer for Columbus East from 2007-2011, setting a single season scoring record that lasted for a decade. He was All-Area, All-Conference and 1st Team All-State and went on to play at the collegiate D2 level. He was studying to be a dentist when he was in a fatal car accident July 2023.
Criteria
Graduating seniors from Columbus East High School planning to attend an accredited post-secondary educational institution in pursuit of a technical certificate, associate's degree, or bachelor's degree. Applicants must have played two years of varsity soccer during their high school career and exemplify the following characteristics: a true passion for soccer, hard work and competitiveness.
Special consideration will be given to players who plan to play soccer in college and/or pursuing a dentistry degree. Additional letter of recommendation from soccer coach required.
